Should I:

a) accept SQ cargo's offer today via email, and say that I will only be able to come down to sign next week, then wait for the outcome of silkair

b) reject SQ cargo

Now b) is obviously a silly option. What if i don't get silkair at all? I will end up with nothing. But I feel bad accepting SQ cargo then in the end say no to them again. It's a terribily zek ark thing to do, considering the fact that I know they are in urgent need of people to fill their HR position.

But I am not that keen in HR. If I could help it, I don't want to spend another 2 years in HR before moving on to other stuff. And what if silkair offers me inflight service, or marketing?

But what if I agree in email today, and they say I HAVE to go down by this week to sign on the contract..... I don't want to leave a black mark with SQ Cargo too... cause afterall, they are under the same parent company.

I must say, that I am pretty good!

From someone who cringed at the thought of running 2.4k for NAFA test during JC and a couch potato in Uni, to someone who managed to complete 25km in 3hrs10mins today, I have come a long way.

He will be tendering today, which means today is pretty much his last day.

Actually, i felt sian recently not so much because i am still unable to find alternative employment, but more so because i will still be left in jett8, and not be able to give myself the excuse that new job = definately no more colleagues with him.

But we still got 2 runs and a diving trip. Well, we'll see how things goes.

This is not what Buddhism should be like. It should be a way of life. Practised and carried out everyday.
I think it is time to end. People feel sad, anger or suffering because we cannot put things down. I think putting things down doesn't equate to giving up. Perhaps it is a form of accepting? Seeing things from a broader perspective? I am not sure. Am still in the midst of learning and understanding.

In this company, flight ops is a pathetic department who is over worked and under appreciated, especially crew rostering.

It sucks when you burnt your weekends trying to make sure the operations goes smoothly and the boss seems oblivious. It sucks when your department scrambles like mad just to close the CANs from audits and the boss thinks it's only something easy peasy which can be settled with a snap of the fingers. And it totally sucks when marketing is the only department who gets all the frame and attention.

I am probably tunneling from one dead end into another.

And when I feel this irritated enough to pen it down, it probably also means that it's THE time of the month.

My colleague is going to Japan in May. She'll be taking the midnight flight back on a thursday.

To save on cab fare, she was thinking of not going home but instead, camp somewhere after touching down.

My other colleague suggested, ''hey why not let's all camp in the office! Then we can watch movie!''

But I don't feel like camping in the office on a thurday. I mean, look, I am stuck in the office 9 hours a day, 5 days week, sometimes even more. I sure don't think I miss the office that much.

Then I think the colleague who is going to Japan was in a random conversation with boss on this topic. And guess what. The boss actually came over and said,''I heard you are not going to join your gang. Why? Camp over in the office la. Do you know that (the colleague) is arriving at midnight and her boyfriend is not going to fetch her back? Accompany her la."

I know those two colleagues are boss's favourites, and I know it may be a small issue, but I find it somewhat unsettling that boss wants ME to accomodate the wants of HIS favourites. Firstly, the next day is going to be a full working day, and it's not like I will confirm get the 'more relaxing' assignments like the colleague going overseas. I will confirm KO the next day if I were to camp overnight. Secondly, there isn't even a shower facility in the toliet. Do u expect me to work, sleep and work in the same clothes for 2 days?

Oh boy. Sometimes I can't stand the way boss thinks and behave. Much less talk about bringing myself to entertain him and make myself one of his "favourites".

As of my last impression of it, there were hardly any stalls and customers.

But to my surprise, it was briming with people yesterday.

And there is this big western food stall with long queue, called "Aston's --- (can't really remember the full name)".

The main point is, the guy who was serving food had a great body, cute face and a sunshine smile.

小舅于2008年7月21日离开了我们.
他临终时只有40岁.

小舅生前经营 Monfort 学校食堂.
在过去的4天里, 很多 Monfort 的师生, 食堂的员工, 供应商等, 都前来吊念.
从他们口中我才第一次真正认识小舅.

每次食堂发生学生打架事件, 小舅都是第一时间赶到劝架.
对于迷失方向的同学, 他都会尽全力开导.
要买水, 但钱不够, 没关系, 明天才还. 解渴重要.
学校办活动需要奖品, 他好不犹豫赞助了一辆100多块的脚车.
旁晚6点多, 食堂的员工都差不多收工了. 打扫的啊嫂问小舅为什么还没回家, 小舅说就快了, 但先送纸皮给某啊嫂了才回.
一位和他感情不错的 Vitagen 供应商每次有困难, 小舅都会帮忙. 有一次供应商家里有事, 小舅热心地载她去见一位自己信任的僧人, 以寻求心灵上的安慰.
每个月, 某老人院收到的几箱几箱的牛奶粉, 都是小舅免费送去的.
每次家庭聚会, 他都会亲切地叫我一声 "菱啊", 然后关心我的近况.
每个家庭聚会, 一定少不了几道小舅的拿手好菜.....

小舅是一个好人.
但命运注定他要在这个时候离开. 我们虽然很难过, 很舍不得, 可是命运的事, 我们没有办法控制.

佛教中有个说法: 生命是苦的 (人生充满了不圆满).
或许这是小舅前世今生修来的福, 累积的德, 能少受些苦.

知道他现在得到了解脱, 得到了平静, 应该就是对我们最大的安慰.

Hello Blog.

It's time to dust off the 3 inch thick dust accumulated on you.

PA has officially ended. Last day of work was bitter sweet. Happy to embrace my 2 weeks zo4 bo2 break, yet sad to leave the ppl, the airport pass, the biggie A380 and the nasi lemak behind at the airline house....

OK..., at least they gave us an A380 collectible to display in out rooms so we did not eactly leave A380 behind at Airline house...

Actually, despite PA, this sem break has been pretty happening:

A) 21st Bdae dinners/ parties:
1.Serene (@ a resturant near dhoby Ghaut)
2.Weilin (@ MINDS cafe)
3.Amy & Alps(@ Sushi Tei)
4.Xiao Ting (@ her hse, BBQ)

B) Movies:
1. Iron Man
2. Sex and the City
3. Kungfu Panda
4. 10 Promises to my Dog
5. Red Cliff

C) K BOX! :
I think I went for a total of 3 sessions for far. Still nothing compared to VonSao's experience la (like what.. 10 times since sem break started?. Hahahas =P).

D) Short getaway trip: Malacca!
And yes, admist PA and stuff, we still managed to squeeze in a short trip to Msia. At first we wanted to go Hotboys Kelong. But we realised tt adding up the transport fees, it is not so worth it afterall.

So.. our next target: Desaru. Unfortunately enough, FM95.8 is bringing a freaking 500 ppl there on that same wkend. Too bad for us, we could not get any hotel rooms. =(

In the end, the only suitable destination is Malacca. Seems like the last place on earth young ppl like us would go. But that was the only choice we had. And we went.

But it indeed was a totally smashing trip! I would say we accomplished a lot within the 2 days 1 night (actually, minus out the travelling time, we were only there for 1 day to be exact) We sight see, shopped, watched movie, makan the nice food we wanted to eat, and did some more last min shopping again!

Thanks guys - Amy, Ash, Alps and Gun, for making this trip a success! =)

E) Meeting up with friends:
1. Breakfast with CPF friends.
Because of everyone's schedule, it was difficult to plan for a meet up. YY -working from 3pm till 12 am (did i rmber correctly?), Hock ge - Army, Aunty Ang - working on sats and on shifts.
Haiya, we should meet up again for a nice proper meal.

2. Dinner with Xiao Ting and vonsao n gang.
She's going for her GIP to Shanghai this coming weds... For 6 mths!
Take care XT! When u come back, most prob will be speaking in mandarin to us. Hahas. :p

F) FYP meetings:
Oh gosh.... a couple of sats and evenings were spent discussing FYP. But with not much progress. Arrrgh!
But whatever the case, we ARE so gonna get an A at the end of the whole thing.

You know, the poster of the Iron Man movie just looks so..... spastic to me a couple of weeks ago.

Yet today, I was sitting right at the first row, right on the first seat from the right, eating the smuggled in Burger King meal, and totally enjoyed movie.

I think the script writers and producers have got an excellent sense of humour. Not your normal kinda super hero movie. Rather, it's about this smart ass man trying to atone for his wrong doings.

Further, the special effect's superb. Those explosion scenes are so real it sent shivers down my spine.

And the most important of all, the iron man is 帅. His moustache gives him the extra character. =)

Despite him being almost 50 yrs old.

But then, I still think the face of the Iron Man is pretty spas. They shld do sth about it.

Went Vivo with the rest of the 3 flowers. Ok, I mean, bosses of the future 4 Flowers bakery. Hahas ;) Tried on quite a lot of clothes but bought non.

And Tues:

In order not to be late for the first day of internship next tues, my mom and I went to check out the Airline House. Pretty cool name eh... but to my great disappointment.... the location is not too cool.

Then comes Weds:

The day when Amy and I went for present shopping. I personally think those pressies are pretty awesome.

Next up, Thurs:

I decided to slack at home instead of attending Jackie's special course on VBA. I honestly did regret slightly about this decision............... Maybe it is a totally unwise move. But well, it's too late to regret.

And finally, the long awaited Fri:

Yesterday was the Girls Home's Family Day 2008.

There was actually much more poeple than I expected.

There are 16 years old girls catching fishes at our booth with their 2 years old kid.

There are girls whose parents looked very much refined and highly educated.

There are girls who put in so much effort choreographing and performing amazing dances just for family day.

There are girls who so passionately helps us carry buckets of water to fill our plastic pool with.

There are staff from the girls's home who really cared for the girls as if they are their real daughters.

And of course, there are volunteers who continued volunteering for the past 3 years out of passion and a big heart.

Despite the chaos at our 'catch me if you can' game booth yesterday, I totally enjoyed it. I know this sounds cliche, but it's great just to see them happy. Happy Family Day!

Retard no. 1 :

My AB213 tutorial and lecture are back to back with each other. And it so happens that the lecturer and tutor is the same person. Tutorial's at the south spine, while lecture's all the way in north spine. The tutor suggested that we start and end 15mins earlier to facilitate movements. And Retard no.1 said something really stupid:

Retard no. 1, 'I cannot come 15 mins earlier.'

Tutor, 'Why?'

Retard no. 1 (with a smirk on his face, thinking he is damn smart to hv come up with such a reason), 'Cannot. I drive to school. Difficult to find free parking lots at this timing. So I will sure be late one.'

Some classmate, 'Then take MRT la.'

Retard no. 1, 'Then I will let down the one who gave me the car if I don't drive it.'

We have to come up with a research topic as part of the assesment for this module. And we were told to do Basic Research (I shall not be bothered to explain what this is in details). And while we brain stormed, we just jot down anything that came to mind. Things like, 'Why people lie', 'What is common sense'.. yada.. yada.. yada..

We need to consult the tutor about the topic before we are able to start. And Retard no. 2 could not wait to show the tutor all the stupid topics we have come up with, in hope that the tutor could close her eyes, and just mini maini mini mo, pick a topic from the list for us to do and then we can chop chop finish the discussion. But the fact is that the tutor thinks we are idiots asking her senseless questions.

The list is crap as far as I can see. Hmm... Maybe we should research on 'Why is Retard no.1 ~~and 2 are~~ is so retarded'.

Today marks my First visit to our all new NBS Student's Lounge.

It's quite a great place ... for slacking and sleeping.

YR said they should buy white cushion. I said that it's not advisable cause the drool marks will show. Yr made a good pt when she replied, 'Actually the red and the black cushions most probably has drool marks on them too. Just that we can't see it.'

Yeah. Nvm. Cannot see is appx. equals to assume don't have. Hahas.

And oh yes. Just checked out my accumulated GPA. I miscalculated. It's not 3.48. HENG.

The only interesting thing that happened to me during the last 2 weeks is the Family Chalet!

It was F-U-N!

My very 'on' aunties booked 3 chalet units at downtown east from 14th till 16th Dec 2007. But because of work ( like.. duh.... :( ), I had to miss 1 day of fun.

My cousins went Wild Wild Wet on sat morning. Damn it... should have went there earlier to join in the the fun.

We had BBQ at night. There was soooo much food that in the end, there was still about like... 20 (or maybe 30?) chicken wings and some meat left over. Wow. The food, as always, were heavenly. My mother's side family are all great cooks. YEAHH!

And believe it or not, I joined my kid cousins for a round of games at the Arcade plus neoprints(:P) after the BBQ. Man, I suck at Arcade games.

Then we just kinda fooled around in the chalet until 2am. I was awake half the night while one of my kid cousins snored over my head.

And on the last day, we visited Escape. The sun was scotching hot. My face got roasted just by walking around the theme park. Well... Escape was never an amusing amusement park in the first place... but oh well.... since the chalet came with free complimentary tickets, 不玩白不玩嘛. Each Chalet unit supposedly gives us 4 free tickets. But my aunt found an additional 4 tickets lying on the table out of the blue before checking out. So all of us had free entrance!一切都是天意!

And again, I must comment on the fact that TIME REALLY FLIES. I always have the impression that this particular kid cousin of mine (well.. to be precise, he's actually my cousin's son. So it makes him my 'niece'?) is in pri 4. But in reality, he's going into sec 1 next year. Which is like... wow. Fast. I think he is going to go far when he grows up. (despite the fact that he sucks in studies) Though mischievous, he cares a lot for his family. Though got sucky grades, he speaks well and is street smart. Just like his mom. =)

Today's the 3rd GSS Peeps gathering!

Well, only Gun, Champ, Qida, Weng Fei, Ruyi and me turned up. The usual gang I would say. The regulars. Hahas.

But it was DARN FUN!! The peeps are as lame as ever. LOL. And poor Champ. He is always the subject of our bully. He was nearly on the verge of washing plates for Thai Express after our constant confirmation that it's gonna be his dinner treat tonight. :P Hahahas.

Actually it has only been 6 months since I went for the fantastic exchange. But it felt as if a year has passed since I last went overseas. The excitment and memories from that trip has slowly fade away during sem time. Thank god today's gathering brought some of them back.

I would like to thank Lynn for her patience guidance. She is really DARN nice. She even took time to print out the step by step print screen for me despite this being their busiest month of the year. She is really SOOO much nicer than that lousy El**NE from OL*M.

But things did not go very well on my 1st day at work.

I am not going to be a kapo and help people introduce work already. Brought soo much trouble for everybody.

Sometimes it's wiser to pretend that you don't know anything rather than be 'helpful'. This is one lesson which I learned the not so pleasant way.

4 days has passed since I climbed out from the sea of shit.

But man, I was never THIS tired during sem time.

28th Nov - Woke up at 12pm. Washed bag, ate conflakes, planned sem 3 timetable. TV-ing and Youtube-ing till 4am.

29th Nov - Woke up at 7.30am for breakfast @ coffeeshop. Slept for another 1hr. Shopping day with Zixin @ Orchard! More TV-ing and Youtube-ing till 4.15am.

30th Nov - Woke up at 9.30am so as to catch my recruit express agent before her lunch time. Unfortunately, she forgot to infrom me that she has shifted from the Raffles Place office to the Ngee Ann City office!! Thank goodness I am living in the 21st century whereby there is such a thing called the Fax Machine. She faxed the contract over to the Raffles Place office and that saves me a trip down to Orchard.
But exactly because of this blunder, I was able to see one of my long lost JC friend - (Harvey) Norman. He has been working at Recruit Express for 11 days. Hahas.
More shopping with MicHo @ CityHall! By the way, Cedele has got some fantastic sandwiches!
Some more TV-ing and Youtube-ing till 4.30am.

1st Dec - Woke up at 7.30am so that my mom can reach the bank before the long queue starts. Then it's Shopping time (again!) with Mom. Ahhh. My most fruitful shopping out of the 3 days. Bought 1 top 1 dress 1 belt. :) I have legitimate reasons for shopping - It's Chinese New Year clothes. :)

Which means on the average, I sleep less than 5 hrs per night. ZZzzzzz.

I predict more TV-ing and Youtube-ing tonight. :)

After being through a tough semester, I finally understood something about Uni.

1. Uni is a place where they throw you into a deep sea of shit and left you to struggle with your
friends.

2. Somehow (miraculously), you will pull through it.

3. Friends are VERY VERY VERY important. They motivate you to study, teach you difficult questions, and most importantly, they remind you of the correct exam date.

As you all know, yesterday (27th) was Bala's paper. And this particular guy didn't turn up. So that night I asked him why he didn't go. And he said, 'OMG, I THOUGHT THE PAPER IS ON 28th!! I AM STILL DOING PAST YEARS PAPER NOW!!'

!!! Wow.

(Honestly, I find that quite hilarious. Hahas)

In other words, inertia means a body in motion tends to remain in motion, a body at rest tends to remain at rest.

In this case, Body = me. Motion = Bala-ing. Unfortunately, the Body is now at rest. The even more unfortunate thing is that due to the massive body size and large friction (I am hairy you see), the body has a surprisingly huge inertia.

1. I FINALLY completed the Expert level Minesweeper game!!!. And I tell you, the game is really based on heng suay, not skills. Am super satisfied.

2. I won 85 munny with just a 5 munny bet in the Facebook's Fluff Race! Now I have a grand total of .....whooping 274 munny! And my fluff's mood currently is: Fierce. Hahas. The fluff race was damn fierce sia. :p

I have come to realise something after half a semester This year.

My luck goes in a cycle with a period of 1 week. The graph says it all.

It will reach it's crest on weekends and falls to the trough on thurs(a.k.a Grace day) and fridays (a.k.a Bala day).

All along, I have been a good student who does her tutorials faithfully. Last week I didn't bala (i.e do Bala's tuts) because a) had to do projs b)(most impt reason of all) I dunno how to do 99.99% of the questions. And just nice on that faithful friday, Bala called me to present the solutions on the board. I was honest with him and told him straight that I didn;t do. He looked disappointed. Great. So much for my class participation.

Yesterday, I wore my shiny golden slippers to school. As soon as I stepped off 179 early in the morning, the STRAP BROKE.

I was "OMG-ing!!!" and "SHIT-ing!!!" all the while, while frantically trying to kiap4 the broken strap in between my toes and walk with the broken slipper. In the end bo bian.. I had to walk around the school with 1 bare f00t for morning.

On the other hand... my luck isn't too bad afterall. Thank goodness I met Gun-er at the interchange --> took bus with her --> broke my strap when she's ard --> got another pair of slippers to wear fm her best friend, Sophia, who happened to live in hall and was leaving for school at ard the time my slipper's strap broke!

My heartfelt thanks to Sophia and Gun-er for helping me out in times of crisis. Without you guys, I would have to walk ard the sch for the whole day, take the bus, sit thr the 0.5hr journey out of Pulau Ntu BARE FOOTED!!

I owe you guys one. :)

中秋节快了!

Today is the Mid Autumn Festival of 2007. All's well and happy... but... no moon. Ho Ho Ho.

Went Chinatown with my parents last Sat. It was a nice! I never remembered S'pore celebrating Mid Autumn festival on such a big scale before. They even blocked the road for people to 提灯笼赏月! Hahas.

We then walked over to Clark Quay area. Oh my... that place... It still fascinates me. It's beautiful. Our government really did do a great job re-sculpting the S'pore River's landscape. Its like.. darn romantic lar.

Anyway, that reverse bungee jump. It's a freaking 40 bucks. OMG. And there are still so many people trying it. Rich people.
